Indiana Jones - 2002 Inductee

HUBBARDS, NOVA SCOTIA

Indiana Jones, a one-year-old Wiemaraner, saved the lives of his entire family — Larry and Chris Stevens and children Justin and Devan in Hubbards, Nova Scotia, after alerting them to a devastating, destructive fire.

As a result of a citronella candle accidentally left burning outside one evening when the family went to bed, a fire erupted and eventually destroyed the home completely.

Indy, sensing the fire and ensuing danger, began barking incessantly in an attempt to wake up Larry and Chris. When he eventually succeeded, they had just enough time to get the two children out of the house before a window blew out in their son?s room.

Indy then led the family to the safest exit — a side door — avoiding the front and back of the house which were surrounded by downed power lines that also caught fire.
